Ice Fishing was a singleplayer game in Club Penguin Rewritten and could be accessed through the Ski Lodge.

On July 26, 2017, the game was revamped to include a new Time Trial mode, in which you have to catch as many fish as possible within 1 minute and 30 seconds. However, you only had one bait, so if you lost it the game ended immediately. Along with this update, the game was given revamps and a new type of mullet called the Rare Mullet was introduced. The Rare Mullet had a 1/100 chance of spawning instead of Mullet at the end of the game.

Gameplay[]

The games objective was to catch as many fish as possible without losing your three bait. Bait could be lost by having your fishing line come into contact with obstacles such as Jellyfish, Sharks and Crabs.

The game began to end once 60 Fish had been caught. As soon as the 60th fish was caught, the Mullet would be seen in the background. The Mullet would then begin to swim toward the player. After this, the player could catch up to 5 or 4 more Fish. To catch the Mullet, the player had to hold a Fish on the end of their line as bait. Catching it ended the game and rewards an extra 100 Coins. Missing it ended the game but it did not yield any bonus coins. If the player had all of the ice fishing stamps other than Trial Master, Fishing Frenzy, and Rare Mullet, the coins you would receive when the game ends multiplied by 2. So if the player collected 350 coins (which is the regular amount if you collect 63 fish and mullet), the player would of received 700 Coins.

By equipping the Flashing Lure Fishing Rod, players were able to catch Gray Fish as well as yellow fish. Up to 58 gray fish could be caught per game.

Time Trial Mode[]

In this mode, the player would catch as many fish as possible in 1 minute and 30 seconds. It was beneficial to not equip the Flashing Lure Fishing Rod in this mode, however, as Gray Fish did not count toward the total.

Obstacles[]

  • Barrels and leather boots would start appearing at the very beginning of the game. Coming into direct contact with them while having a fish hooked at the end of your fishing line would result in the fish escaping.
  • Jellyfish would begin to appear after 5 Fish have been caught and collected. Having a Jellyfish come into contact with any part of your fishing line will result in a loss of a single bait.
  • Sharks would begin to appear after 19 Fish are caught. Having a Shark come into direct contact with the end of your fishing line would result in a loss of a single bait.
  • Crabs would begin to appear after 37 Fish are caught. They would crawl underneath the ice that the player is sitting on and attempted to cut your fishing line. Having your fishing line under the ice while a Crab cuts it would result in the loss of a life.

Trivia[]

  • The yellow fish's name was Fluffy the Fish.
  • The Fly Fisher Stamp, Trial Master Stamp and Fishing Frenzy Stamp were all added on July 26, 2017, along with the update.
  • Regardless of the color of the Mullet, it would always appear red until it swims directly under the fishing hole.
  • The maximum amount of fish that could be caught is either 65 or 64.
  • The maximum amount of coins earned in a single Classic Mode run was 1168 coins.
  • One game of Classic Mode lasted approximately 4 minutes and 10 seconds.
  • Using the Flashing Lure Fishing Rod would make the classic mode considerably faster, since the yellow fish spawn was not affected by the gray fish spawn. Hence, more fish could be caught quicker.
  • Regardless of their color, the maximum amount of fish a player could catch in a Classic Mode game was 64 regular fish and a mullet.
  • The Rare Mullet had unused sprites for the animation of it being caught found in the game's .swf file. The game instead used the regular Mullet's sprites for when the rare mullet was caught.
  • Gray fish did not count towards stamps that are earned in Time Trial mode (Trial Master and Fishing Frenzy).
  • The revamp originally had a different design for the number of bait the player has.
  • The maximum amount of gray fish that could be caught was 58.
